The Day I Met Jesus

The Day I Met Jesus

There are days in life that fade like mist in the morning.
And then there are days that divide your life forever.

The day I met Jesus was not the day the world changed around me.

It was the day He changed me.

I had walked through life carrying burdens nobody could see—regret, fear, hidden wounds, unanswered questions, and the weight of my own sin. I knew religion, but I did not know peace. I knew about God, but I had not yet encountered His transforming presence.

Then Jesus stepped into my story.

Not with thunder.

Not with applause.

But with conviction, mercy, and truth.

Like The Gospel According to John says, “The light shines in darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.” Suddenly I saw my darkness clearly—but for the first time, I also saw hope.

The day I met Jesus:

  • My guilt met forgiveness.
  • My emptiness met grace.
  • My wandering heart found direction.
  • My chains met a Savior strong enough to break them.

I realized that Christ did not come merely to improve my life. He came to resurrect what sin had killed.

Saul of Tarsus met Jesus on the Damascus road and never remained the same.

Mary Magdalene met Jesus and was delivered from darkness.
Zacchaeus met Jesus and restitution replaced greed.

A true encounter with Christ always leaves evidence.

The day I met Jesus, I discovered:

  • His blood was greater than my past.
  • His mercy was deeper than my failures.
  • His love was stronger than my rebellion.

And though trials still come, I no longer walk alone. The same Savior who found fishermen by the sea, touched lepers, raised the broken, and carried a cross now walks beside me every day.

Many people know church.

Many know sermons.

Many know religious language.

But the greatest question is this:
Have you truly met Jesus?

Because one moment in His presence can accomplish what years of human effort never could.

The day I met Jesus was the day:

  • death lost its sting,
  • shame lost its voice,
  • and hope was born again in my soul.

And if He could change me, He can change anyone.
