Wait Upon the Lord

Wait Upon the Lord

The world often seems to reward the wicked while the faithful struggle. In such moments, Zephaniah 3:8 reminds us that God has not abandoned His throne. He sees every injustice, every act of rebellion, and every tear shed by His children.

The Lord's command is simple: "Wait ye upon me." Waiting is not passive resignation; it is active trust. It means believing that God is working even when we cannot see His hand. It means refusing to compromise with evil simply because judgment appears delayed.

Many people mistake God's patience for indifference. Yet the same God who delays judgment to give sinners an opportunity to repent will one day act decisively. His justice may seem slow, but it is never absent.

For the believer, this verse is both a warning and a comfort. It warns us not to trifle with sin. It comforts us with the assurance that evil will not have the last word. God's kingdom will prevail, and His righteousness will fill the earth.

Today, if you are weary from seeing wrong go unpunished, hear God's invitation: Wait upon Me. Trust My timing. Stand faithful. I am still in control.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to trust Your timing when I cannot understand what is happening around me. Give me patience to wait upon You and faith to remain faithful in a world that often rejects Your ways. Keep my heart steadfast until the day You make all things right. In Jesus' name, Amen.
